HOW TO: Create a User Account in SmarterMail
The following method applies to SmarterMail 8.x – 15.x. Follow these steps to create a new user in SmarterMail:
Step 1
Firstly, log in to the SmarterMail web interface as the domain administrator.

Next, click the Settings icon.
Step 3
Then, expand the Domain Settings folder.
Step 4
After that, click ‘Users’.
Step 5
Proceed by clicking New in the content pane toolbar.
Step 6
Then, type the desired username in the field of ‘Username’.

Next, please select the appropriate authentication option from the list in the field of ‘Authentication Mode’. Take note: If an active directory is selected, enter the domain name in the Domain field and you can skip to Step 9.
Step 8
The next step is to type the password for this new account in the field of ‘Password and Confirm Password’. Don’t forget to type the same password each time.
Step 9
Type the name that will appear on outgoing messages in the field of ‘Display Name’.
Step 10
It is optional to enter a Reply-To Email Address.
Step 11
Select the appropriate time zone from the list in the field of ‘Time Zone’.
Step 12
After all, click Save.
